Gone but not Forgotten, watercolour

Gone but not forgotten

I took a photograph of a Chelsea Pensioner sitting in St. James's Park on an early summers day. Empty deck chairs were set around him, it looked as though they had been pulled up by his comrades but had left him by his self at some stage.
I almost got the impression the empty deck chairs had been set up for the gentlemans fallen comrades.

Oke Bay, Bay of Islands,
New Zealand

Towards the end of my backpacking trip around New Zealand I spent four days in the Bays of Islands. I explored the bays and soaked up the tranquil ambience. I came across Oke Bay early one morning, the beach and bay was empty. It was quiet except for the gentle surf rolling in.

Hallingbury Mill, Gaston Green, Hertfordshire

Hallingbury Mill

This watercolour was a commission for a wedding present. The reception was held at the Mills Resaurant which is a very popular place to eat. It seemed to be an easier enough subject, drawing the building and laying in the trees, then scubbling the gravel. The Mill proved to be more of a challenge than anticipated. Getting the perspective right took several attempts.
