St Micheals Mount, Cornwall

Evening light, St. Micheals Mount, Cornwall

St. Micheals Mount is an iconic feature of Cornwall. Just off the Cornish coast near Penzance the Mount is accessable on foot at low tide via a cause way. St. Micheals Mount has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages and I wanted to capture the grandeur of this iconic feature.

Storm over Gower Peninsula

This painting is from a photograph I took some thirty years ago. I spent a week walking around The Gower Peninsula. This dramatic storm was coming in with the distant sun light on the sea.
I felt a dramatic scene like this deserved subliminal proportions and used a full sheet A1 watercolour paper.

Gone Fishing, watercolour

Gone Fishing

This watercolour is from a photograph I took about 40 year ago in the Seychelles.
The view is of La Digue's harbour before it was developed. The yachts would have to moore up off shore and the passengers were rowed ashore. This looked like the perfect painting of the boys fishing, its just taken me 40 years to paint it.
